I thought I would be nice to include a picture of the Marine Chronometer with the Omega
Chrono-Quartz for comparison.
The Chrono-Quartz was of course the 'Olympic model', introduced to mark the 1976
Montreal games, and the first wristwatch to have both analog and digital displays. It's a reliable and very tough beast, which is often on my wrist. These two once very cutting edge watches might well represent Omega's technological high point and it is sobering to contemplate the destruction of value (monetary and other) that 'the advance of technology' has actually brought us. Is it really a good thing to be able to buy better watches than either of these today in stores such as 'Agros' for less than twenty quid? Most I suppose would say a resounding yes, but I do wonder.
